Au Pair insurance
The Social Insurance Bank (SVB) states that it is required by law that your au pair is insured through a Dutch health insurance company. It does not matter which health insurance company the au pair uses. The related costs are not included in our cost overview as they vary per insurance company and also depend on the excess. For more information on the insurance of foreign au pairs, please contact the SVB.
Travel insurance au pair
Host families that apply with Au Pair Nederland are required to arrange an insurance policy for the benefit of their au pair which at least covers the following:
- Repatriation and burial/cremation in the Netherlands or the transport of the body to the country of origin;
- Medical costs;
- Legal liability.
